One discipline. Everything else went.
Quantity Surveying was the role everybody covered and nobody knew. The commercial function is where the money on a project is won and lost, and learning to read it properly takes years that nobody covering five disciplines is ever going to spend.
So we stopped covering it and started living in it.

Those titles are not comparable between companies, which is most of the reason people move sideways without meaning to.

A note
What we still haven't cracked.
The industry isn't making enough QSs. We can move the good ones around, but that doesn't make any more of them. We haven't cracked our part in fixing that, and we know we have one.
