Most QSs on technically complex M&E work get a slice of a job. This role gives you full accountability for your own work packages or projects.

What you'd own
You'd shape the commercial strategy on your projects, before and after contract. That means tender enquiries, package reconciliations and subcontract orders, then the final accounts at the other end. You'd also own the cashflow. How well the commercial side is managed decides how much cash the project holds, and that's down to you. You'd report on the contracts you run and work directly with customers and the wider project team, with the focus on compliance, commercial viability and best practice.
What you need
You're a QS with M&E commercial experience. You're comfortable owning subcontract packages from tender enquiry through to final account. The rest of the brief is still being confirmed with the client, and we'll tell you what we know when we speak.
The package
There's a profit share on top of the salary, with a car allowance or company car depending on grade. Travel to site is covered, and flexible working is part of the offer. The wider benefits include private medical, an employer pension, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays and a health and wellness programme. Family leave goes well beyond the statutory minimum. The salary is a conversation we'll have directly with you.
How it's being run
You deal with us directly. One person at clearnorth takes you from first call to offer, and you can ask us anything about the role and the team. If we don't have the answer yet, we'll say so and go and get it from the client.
About us
We're clearnorth. We work with quantity surveyors and commercial people in construction, infrastructure and regulated utilities, perm and contract, and that's all we do. People call us the QS People. It's a small world, and we'll cross paths with most people reading this several times over a career, so a move that goes wrong costs us far more than it ever earns.
