A major UK electricity network operator has won an overhead line rebuild framework in the South West, out of a Chippenham depot. It's in mobilisation, so the commercial side has to be built rather than maintained: NEC option A activity schedules from scratch, the monthly application cycle stood up, client interaction set right from the start. Individual projects run from a couple of hundred thousand up to around a million.
It's set up as a rolling six-month contract, but be realistic about what that means here. The work is long-dated and the location isn't one that gets backfilled quickly, so this is an assignment that holds for the long term for the right person. If you want stability without going permanent, that's exactly what this is.
What you'd ownRun the contract commercially from mobilisation onward. Build the activity schedules, stand up the monthly cycle, hold the client commercial relationship as the framework comes online, then keep it running clean. This needs someone who can build a commercial setup from nothing, not just maintain one that's already there.
What it takesNEC option A and genuine activity schedule build experience, not inherited schedules. Overhead line or wider power network background is ideal. The harder requirement is being the kind of contractor who's comfortable owning the commercial side of a framework start to finish.
About us, and why a quiet conversation makes senseWe're clearnorth. Quantity Surveying is the only thing we do, contract and perm, nothing else. We don't put contractors forward as bodies against a rate. We place people against work they're genuinely right for, and your name reaches the client only on your terms.
If a long, settled contract on a framework you'd actually build sounds like your kind of work, let's talk.
