Contract Quantity Surveyor Scotland, Highlands

Type: Contract, rolling six-month, expected to run long-term

Location: Fort William, with significant travel across remote sites

Contract: NEC option A, activity schedules Exclusive to clearnorth

A brand new Highlands framework, signed last week, with the commercial setup still to build. Remote, involved, and a contract that, realistically, holds for the long term.

The same operator has won an overhead line rebuild framework in the North, based out of Fort William and covering long, genuinely remote sites across the region. The contract was signed last week, so this is the earliest point: the commercial framework gets built from the start. Expect significant travel and close work with the project team on the ground.

It's set up as a rolling six-month contract, and given where the work is, it's one that runs long. This isn't a location that turns over quickly, so for the right contractor it's a stable, long-dated assignment rather than a short gap. Named honestly because the person who's right for it will want it named honestly. Remote, involved, a build rather than a maintain. That's the appeal, not the catch.

What you'd own

Stand up the commercial side of a brand new framework lot. NEC option A activity schedules from scratch, monthly applications and client interaction established as it mobilises, then ongoing commercial ownership across difficult geography, embedded with the project team.

What it takes

NEC option A and real activity schedule build experience. Comfort with travel and remote sites, and the kind of contractor who treats a standing start as the interesting part. Overhead line or power network background is ideal. Seniority counts here, because there's no established setup to lean on.

About us, and why a quiet conversation makes sense

We're clearnorth. Quantity Surveying is the only thing we do, contract and perm, nothing else. We're not advertising a hard-to-fill seat and hoping. We're looking for the specific contractor who builds commercial frameworks and doesn't mind where the work is. Your name reaches the client only on your terms.

If a long, remote, build-from-scratch contract is the kind of thing you take on, let's have the conversation.
