The CLIC Charter: your ticket in
Membership begins with the Charter. This is more than a formality; it is the commitment that keeps the circle sharp, selective and safe.
Without the Charter, there is no CLIC.
Read and sign the Charter below, and let's open the door:
The Commercial Leadership Collective (CLIC)
Charter
1. Purpose
CLIC exists to raise standards in commercial leadership.
It’s a private, peer-led collective where commercial leaders share challenges, test thinking, and improve how we operate.
No selling.
No recruiting.
Just honest conversations that make us better at what we do.
2. Our Ethos
CLIC works because of how members show up.
We ask everyone to:
Speak openly.
We value clarity over politics. Straight conversations. Real issues. No performance.
Protect the room.
What’s shared here stays here. That’s what allows people to speak honestly.
Debate properly.
Challenge ideas. Respect people.
Contribute.
This isn’t a broadcast channel. It’s a working table. Everyone brings experience, perspective, or support.
Respect ownership.
Frameworks, documents and ideas remain the property of the person sharing them unless permission is given.
Keep it peer-led.
CLIC is not a marketplace. It’s a professional space built on trust.
We keep the group intentionally curated.
Smaller tables. Better conversations.
3. Membership
CLIC is invite-only.
Members are active Commercial Managers, Directors or equivalent leaders who want to think sharper and operate better.
Founding members help shape the direction of the collective as it grows.
Membership isn’t about status.
It’s about contribution.
4. Behaviour Standards
To protect the integrity of the group:
- No sales activity.
- No recruiting.
- No screenshots, forwarding or sharing outside the group.
- No using information gained here to disadvantage another member.
If something feels questionable, it probably is. Protect the room.
Contribution is expected but that can mean sharing experience, asking a strong question, or offering support. Not everyone needs to speak first. Everyone does need to engage.
4.1 Commercial Boundaries
CLIC is not a route to market.
Members must not use introductions, conversations, events, or contact details gained through CLIC to approach other members with unsolicited commercial propositions.
This includes:
- Direct selling of consultancy, advisory, legal, technology or recruitment services
- Indirect “soft” positioning designed to convert relationships into commercial pitches
- Approaching members outside the room as a result of CLIC participation unless explicitly invited to do so
If two members independently decide to work together, that is their choice.
But CLIC must never be used as the mechanism to initiate sales activity.
Protecting the integrity of the room takes priority over individual commercial opportunity.
5. Structure
CLIC operates through:
- Invite-only roundtables and events designed for depth, not scale
- Sector and theme-specific sub-groups (Build, Civils, M&E, Contract Talk)
- A private WhatsApp community for ongoing discussion and quick peer support
6. Safeguarding the Collective
CLIC is built on trust.
If standards slip, we address it directly and proportionately. Most issues are resolved with a conversation and a reset.
Repeated or serious breaches, particularly around confidentiality, sales activity, or misuse of shared information may result in removal from the collective.
The Founding Team retains discretion on membership and group structure to protect the integrity of CLIC.
7. Commitment
By joining CLIC, members agree to:
- Uphold the ethos
- Contribute in good faith
- Protect confidentiality
- Respect fellow members
- Help raise the standard of commercial leadership
8. Integrity & Reporting
Protecting the Room
If a member experiences behaviour that feels like selling, positioning, or misuse of access gained through CLIC, they are encouraged to raise it confidentially with the Founding Team.
Concerns will be handled discreetly and proportionately.
No member will be penalised for raising a genuine concern in good faith.
CLIC operates on trust. Silence protects bad behaviour. Speaking up protects the collective.
Repeated or deliberate misuse of the network for commercial gain will result in removal.
The CLIC Pledge
“I commit to uphold the CLIC Charter, to contribute openly, protect confidentiality, respect my peers, and support the continued raising of standards in commercial leadership.”
